Documents required for FICA

What is FICA - The Financial Intelligence Centre Act:
FICA was created to establish and maintain an effective policy and compliance framework and operational capacity to oversee compliance and to provide high quality, timeous financial intelligence for use in the fight against crime, money laundering and terror financing in order for South Africa to protect the integrity and stability of its financial system, develop economically and be a responsible global citizen.

As we provide a banking service, we are legally obligated to complete FICA for all our customers.

WAPPoint Shared Merchant Account Documents:
- A copy of the Owner / Director / Member signing the contract's ID Document. If a passport is supplied, we will require a copy of work permit or permanent residency.
- A copy of your Company Registration Document (if applicable).
- A copy of your Water and Electricity account or Rental Agreement to verify your physical address.
- A copy of your Telephone account or any other monthly services account statement.
- A Bank Statement or Letter from your bank reflecting the Account Details where payments will be debited or credited. (We do not accept a Cancelled Cheque as it does not reflect the date)

WAPPoint Own Merchant Account Documents:
- Certified copies of all Owners / Directors / Member's ID Documents. If a passport is supplied, we will require a certified copy of work permit or permanent residency. - PLEASE POST ORIGINAL CERTIFIED COPIES
- A certified copy of your Company Registration Document (if applicable). - PLEASE POST ORIGINAL CERTIFIED COPIES
- A certified copy of your Water and Electricity account or Rental Agreement to verify your physical address.- PLEASE POST ORIGINAL CERTIFIED COPIES
- A copy of your Telephone account or any other monthly services account statement.
- 3 Months Bank Statement reflecting the Account Details where payments will be debited or credited. - PLEASE POST ORIGINAL CERTIFIED COPIES
